With Kirkwood opening today and Alpine Meadows tomorrow, vacationers and locals alike will have an abundance of choices when it comes to skiing around the lake. Heavenly has been opened since November 20th. The ski report, brought to you by Lake Tahoe News, will give you the latest conditions on all the mountains and around the Lake Tahoe basin.

Brrrrrr it is currently 14 degrees in South Lake Tahoe but not to worry because snow is in the forecast for this weekend. Bundle up, grab your skis or board and your sunglasses and sunblock because it’s the perfect weekend for skiing.
If you want to get a head start at the ski resorts I would leave now for Lake Tahoe. There’s a lot of action in town this weekend besides the slopes. Comedians Will Durst, Maryellen Hooper & Darryl Collier in town. Brian Wilson and Cheeseball are also around, you can even win tickets from the local radio station. Or you could warm it up slightly with Foo Fighters’ “Wheels” and then some Alllan Sherman? Freaky Fat Friday baby!
You already know the two best places in town to stay. The Americana Vacation Club and the Stardust Vacation Club. Both places have year around heated pools and hot tubs….did I mention the hot tubs? Would could be better than soaking in a hot tub after a long day of skiing?
