Elena on Running Marathons

Every year at the end of September, Elena will run in the Tahoe Half Marathon, just one of the many events she participates in. The race starts just south of Meeks Bay and finishes at Pope Beach in South Lake Tahoe. Elena loves this race because the views are serene, it is a smaller race – maybe because it is so challenging (difficult hills and the altitude), but crossing that finish line is definitely a great sense of accomplishment. To practice for this race, she scopes out challenging hills around town and really enjoys running through Kahle Meadow, Power Line Trail, and the meadow behind Denny’s.  Nothing tops running in the mountains!  Here are some links to local marathons and trails:
